Is Ms. Ophine’s all natural? Organic?
We developed our Shea Butter Cream as a kind and natural skin care product that we could and would use at home, so we only use the best ingredients. There are no preservatives, additives, alcohol, or chemicals included in our product, and every batch is made with the same care as the first. When possible, we use organic ingredients, and we source our shea butter from reputable suppliers. Our understanding is that there are often barriers to receiving the official designation. That said, there are only natural and minimally processed ingredients in our product, nothing made by people.
Can I use this on my hair?
Yes! While everyone’s hair is different, Ms. Ophine’s Shea Butter Cream is adaptable for many hair types. Some folks use it on their locks, some to help detangle, and sometimes just to feed the hair healthy oil and nutrients. And we mean white folks, Black folks, Asian folks, all kindsa folks - so we recommend you try some out and see in what way it suits you.
I see all of the oils, is it oily?
Because of the oils that are blended with the shea butter, Ms. Ophine’s has a solid but light consistency that spreads easily. As you apply the Butter Cream - and you only need a little - your skin might look shiny for a moment after application due to the oils in the product. Not to fear! All of the ingredients are natural with nothing to impede a quick absorption.Your skin will be nourished in no time with no residue. You’ll find your skin feels healthy and supple.
Are the scents strong?
The scents are subtle. We try to infuse just enough essential oils into the scented offerings to ‘remind you of that smell through the day’ as one friend put it.
WHO IS MS. OPHINE?
When we started making our shea butter cream, we gave some to friends and they asked “What do you call it?” We named it Ms. Ophine’s after Kristen’s great grandmother.
